Yogini, Moonchild, Sun Lover

Hi, my name is Eva and I am a Yoga Alliance Certified yoga teacher (RYT 200) based in Sayulita, Mexico. I love yoga, anything purple, puppies (all animals for that matter, cute waves, palm trees, sun flowers, learning languages (I speak Finnish, Swedish, English and Spanish), traveling and BIG smiles.

I grew up in Helsinki, Finland, but always felt drawn to the beach lifestyle. Finally after having graduated with a Master's Degree in Economics (yup, a pretty massive change from numbers to poses), I decided to change my life completely. I packed my bags, left my marketing job and moved to the other side of the world. Now, living the lifestyle of my dreams, I teach at various retreats, eat fresh tropical food, practice and teach yoga and surf almost every day. I am living in a way that promotes health, balance and a deeper peace of mind.

My path with yoga started through Ashtanga, but slowly, I started feeling more drawn to different styles including Vinyasa Flow and Yin, which are now the closest to my heart.

As a yoga teacher, I combine the power of Vinyasa flow with the restorative energy in Yin. In a typical yoga class, you will feel the warmth of the flowing movement, and the strength in holding poses with integrity.  People say I have a gentle way of guiding your body in to proper alignment, and I always aim to work to meet each of my students individual needs. I believe that these two practices complement each other and are the perfect combination for a calm, balanced body, mind and spirit.

I think that to continue on this path, I must always keep an open heart and a willingness to learn from others. Therefore I must always stay a student.

I also believe that by practicing yoga and coming into alignment with your highest self, you will live a more fulfilling life and make choices from a more centered place. After all, life is all about choices.

I recently completed a training in NSR (Neuro Somatic Reprogramming), which is something I love to blend into my Yin classes. I have also studied Reiki healing, which is something I like to incorporate into my classes during Savasana.

I'd love to connect with you! Make sure to check me out on Sayulita Life.

I mostly teach privately at various villas and houses throughout the Bay of Banderas, however you can find me teaching at these two local yoga studios; Hotelito De Los Suenos and Amor Boutique Hotel.

My teachers

I have been fortunate enough to get the chance to practice with many amazing teachers. I did my teacher training with Satu Tuomela (FIN) and Ramesh Tarun Narine (CAN). I've also been privileged to practice with great teachers such as Jennifer Isaacson (US), Vanessa Morett (MEX), Taran Bhattal (IND), Audra Rose StanleyCarmela Carlyle (US) and Taisuke Tanimura (US) amongst others.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa Yoga

VINYASA YOGA

Flow Yoga or Vinyasa Yoga is one of the most popular styles of yoga. This practice increases flexibility, endurance and strength by linking each asana into a flowing sequence. Vinyasa Yoga is a a faster paced and diverse style since the sequence always changes.

Yin Yoga & Restorative Yoga

Yin Yoga & Restorative Yoga

YIN YOGA & RESTORATIVE YOGA

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced, meditative practice with mostly floor based or seated poses that are held for a longer period of time (2-10 minutes). Instead of activating the muscles, we are aiming to relax into each pose and bring our awareness to our breath cycle. Most of the poses target the dense connective tissues of the body - often in the hips, pelvis and lower back.  This practice is perfect for anyone looking for a more mediative and relaxing class.

MEDITATION

Sit in stillness and learn breathing techniques. Meditation will give you clarity, emotional positivity and a calm sense of the true nature of things.

SUP YOGA

Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga combines two of my favorite things: the ocean and yoga, you can expect some wet dogs instead of down dogs. This is a fun and playful way to take your yoga practice to the biggest teacher of them all; Mother ocean.
