Private Sound Bath in Helsinki: Sound Healing for Yourself, Friends or a Celebration

Most people try their first sound bath in a big group class, lying on a mat next to strangers. That's a lovely way to start, but a private sound bath is a different experience altogether. The whole session is shaped around you, or around your group, and you can fully let go without wondering who is lying next to you.

I offer private sound baths (äänimaljarentoutus) in Helsinki for individuals, couples, friends, families and celebrations. Here's how they work, what happens during a session and how to book one.

What is a private sound bath?

A sound bath is a relaxation practice where you lie down, close your eyes and listen while I play Tibetan singing bowls, crystal bowls, koshi chimes, gong, rainstick and other instruments. The layered tones and vibrations help the mind quiet down and the body settle into a calmer state. If you'd like the longer explanation, I've written a whole post on what a sound bath is and what to expect.

In a private session it's just you, or the people you invite. I can adjust the pace, the instruments and the intention to what you need that day, whether that's deep rest after a stressful period or simply an hour where nobody needs anything from you.

Who books a private sound bath in Helsinki

Just for yourself

A one-to-one session is the most personal version. You can tell me how you're feeling and what you'd like from the session, and then you get to lie down and receive. Many people find it easier to relax completely when they're not in a group.

Friends, couples and families

A sound bath is a really nice thing to do together that doesn't involve a restaurant or a bar. It works well for a small group of friends, a couple's evening or a family moment, and nobody needs any experience.

Birthdays, polttarit and other celebrations

For birthdays, polttarit (bachelorette parties) and other special days, a group sound bath gives everyone a calm, shared moment in the middle of the celebrations. If your group wants something a bit more active, have a look at my bachelorette yoga too, and we can combine the two.

Where the sessions happen

I can come to your home or another space in Helsinki, and I bring mats, blankets and eye pillows along with all the instruments, so you only need enough floor for everyone to lie down. If you'd rather not host, we can book a calm studio space in Helsinki. Sessions outside Helsinki, for example in Espoo, are possible on request.

Sessions can be held in Finnish, Swedish, English or Spanish.

What to wear and bring

Wear something comfortable and warm, and bring wool socks. You'll be lying still for a while and it's much easier to relax when you're not cold. Everything else I'll bring.

Is a sound bath suitable for everyone?

For most people, yes. If you have a pacemaker, epilepsy or strong sensitivity to sound, please let me know before booking so we can discuss whether it's right for you. A sound bath is a relaxation practice, so it doesn't replace medical or psychological care, but it can be a beautiful support alongside it.

Why book with me

I've been teaching yoga since 2013 and I'm the founder of the Soma & Sound® Method, which I also teach to new sound healers in my trainings. My sessions are calm and grounded, with very little talking and a lot of space to simply rest. If you're curious about the energy side of sound, you might also enjoy my beginner's guide to chakras and sound healing.
